Happy first day of Spring! This morning I woke to the sound of birds chirping outside. Maybe the weather really will warm up from now on? Even if it doesn’t, every Friday from today onwards, I’m going to post some of the web videos that catch my eye during the week. Plus it’s Friday, so what better way to round out the work week with some laughs and good times?
Firstly there’s a new video from ohhello.tv for Microsoft (in addition to the one we all saw a couple weeks ago). This time, the clip is much longer, more detailed, and.. beautiful. If only Microsoft was doing this sort of work right now, rather than in a future yet to be determined… MS Sustainability
Up next, a clip of that volcanic eruption off the coast of Tonga in the South Pacific. The eruption, which was likely related to a 7.9 degree earthquake the following day, sent ash, smoke, and steam “thousands of feet” into the sky.
This is followed by some completely wicked hula hooping set to In Step, by @FrankMusik (As far as the outfit goes, if you pretend she’s a super hero, or getting her hula on at the beach, it’s all good!). While you’re checking him out, be sure to give Better Off As Two a watch/listen.
After that wonderfulness, get ready to gaze in horror as hundreds of wannabe Top Models stampede and fight their way through the mob, trying to escape what they thought to be a bomb. I can’t help but feel for the gals in the center, running back and forth, unsure as to which side is safer… In related news, cars overheat sometimes.
Then we have the Subway Art Gallery Opening from Improv Everywhere, and I have to confess, if we did something like this in Vancouver I’d be all over it. I love the performance pieces, especially the regularly scheduled one at the end. It’d get my red sticker too.
And then to round out the inaugural Friday Tube Debris, there’s a short clip of US President Barack Obama on the Tonight Show with Leno (the first time a sitting US president did such a thing) where he refers to his bowling skills as being “like the Special Olympics or something”. Oh Obama, even you have your moments.
